Your Club
We are very pleased to see many new anglers joining KWAA and many older members returning as well. With some truly amazing salmon, sea trout and brown trout, coming out and most importantly, going back into the river, for the first time fish catches are being seen in social media. As a result, the river is gaining respect throughout the region. We have all put a great deal of into improving our fishing and most importantly getting access to tickets, through the new website. We work closely with Carlson’s Tackle Shop, the EA, local groups and influencers to raise awareness of KWAA and fishing. It is great to know this is working.

Golden Browns
The Kent is contention for the No1 river in the Northwest for brown trout fishing. One fish over 7lb, caught recently, is probably the biggest caught on the river (unless you know different). There have been many 6lb+ and 5lb fish, being caught on all methods, from fly, through spinners to worm. What method is best all depends on the water conditions and the angler’s ability to read the river. Great credit must go to 2 outstanding local fishermen. You can follow @the_waterwhipper (Brandon) and @thedistrictangler (Jordan) on social media, just to see what you could have caught ☺
Those looking to lure fish for big browns, salmon and sea trout should check out the Rapala Countdown Elites, Flying C’s, Toby’s and Mepps spinners at Carlson’s!
Social media & instagram – show us your fish!
You can follow KWAA on Instagram here to see the best fish as they are caught and maybe try to be clever to work out what method and where they are in the river. Please do send in your fish and fishing pictures. We love to see and share your news with our growing community.

Killington Update
Killington is growing in respect from the Northwest top coarse angles. Being close to junction 37 on the M6 makes it a very welcome break, with record numbers buying membership and day tickets. We have had several international anglers visiting and most importantly enjoying and spreading the news about the great fishing. At £40 a year, it is a very accessible bargain for great all year fishing.
Bream On a Toby? Yes… recently, when spinning for perch, with a classic toby, one very lucky angler had 10 bream in one evening. We all thought foul hooking, however, the evidence is there, and the angler certainly knows their stuff. Seems the bream wanted something different! (pic above)
Pike Rules. These have been added to the website information. It is most important all our pike anglers are aware of the equipment they need to ensure all fish are returned perfectly. If you are pike fishing, please be aware of the requirements.
