We are glad we have a lot of new members fishing our KWAA waters, with a significant growth in junior members, who may be new to being part of a fishing club. Please see the below information, as a polite reminder to all new and old members.

Some Key Points for all Members

  1. RULES & REGULATIONS – UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW THEM. You need to be all aware of the rules and regulations of our and your club. Ignorance is not a defence. The rules are available online for everyone to download and from Carlson’s Tackle Shop in a booklet.
  2. ABUSE TO OTHER MEMBERS & FISHING REGULATIONS. We have had one incident of junior members fishing with an adult, not following the fishing regulations. (Before 1st May the river is fly only). When challenged they continued to fish and verbally abused a member. This will not be tolerated. The club is aware of people involved. See below how the club deal with issues.
  3. JUNIOR MEMBERS – MUST HAVE AN ADULT PRESENT. To comply with insurance regulations juniors must be accompanied by an adult. If they are not, then should there be any issue they will not be covered by the club’s insurance. This is clear in the rules and on all signs (see above)
  4. CAR PARK – GATES CLOSED. Those using the car parks must close and lock the gates when entering or leaving.
  5. NO LITTER. We have now had a few instances of tackle related littler on the bank. Yes, anyone can drop something by mistake, however please all take care.
  6. FISH CARE. Again, instances of fish not being cared for properly have come to our notice. Members must have the correct equipment and knowledge to catch and return a fish in perfect condition.
  7. BREAKING THE RULES. We now have 3 bailiffs covering the waters. Any member found to be breaking any rules in any way can be issued a yellow warning. Should another issue occur their license and fishing rights can be taken away. Should anyone be found fishing illegally, they will be prosecuted, with no yellow warning or tolerance from KWAA or the police.
